The Sport England funded Sportivate programme has now finished and is no longer accepting applications.
Sportivate has been a fantastic programme which engaged 11 to 25 years olds who were not participating in sport or physical activity.
Over the last 7 years the Sportivate programme has invested £706,290 into Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes and engaged over 16,000 young people across 46 different activities. The projects funded as part of the programme have contributed to:
Tackling inactivity by engaging and sustaining inactive young people who are not participating in sport or physical activity through 6-8 week projects.
Engaging under represented groups with Sportivate projects specifically designed to engage females, BAME participants, faith groups and disabled young people.
Providing new opportunties for all through free and subsidised coaching in a variety of sports and activities – guiding young people to regularly participate in sport or activity sessions in their local communities.
Tackling social issues by designing projects to tackle anti-social behaviour, community integration, obesity and mental health issues.
What a final year we’ve had
The final, 7th year of Sportivate delivery ended in March 2018. Huge thanks goes to all the the partners and deliverers who have contributed to this progamme and made it a success, we have overachieved all our targets again this year.
2,233 young people completed projects (Target: 1,035)
27% of participants said they had a disability
32% of participants were from BAME groups
88% of participants were inactive at registration (Target: 70%)
Many great projects have been delivered over the last 7 years by our fabulous team of providers.
