The Leap Awards 2022 will take place Thursday 17th March 2022. 

The deadline for nominations is Wednesday 1st December 2021 at 5pm.

Each year the Bucks & MK Sport and Physical Activity Awards recognises and thanks those individuals and organisations who work so hard to help make sports happen and in turn contribute to improving the lives of residents.

We will be accepting nominations for the following categories:

  • Community Coach of the Year
  • Community Group of the Year
  • Innovation Award
  • Primary School of the Year
  • Secondary School of the Year
  • Unsung Hero of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Inspirational Young Person of the Year

Bucks & MK Community Coach of the Year 2020 – Herman Fung

Herman Fung has created countless new opportunities for all ages and abilities to get involved in physical exercise and badminton. “Herman is always positive in his approach and is determined to get the best out of every player that he comes into contact with, whilst providing them with the best possible experience of badminton. He’s very much looked up to as inspiring leader within his clubs and sessions.”

 

Bucks & MK Volunteer of the Year 2020 – Claire Moore

Claire Moore Chair of Chesham Stags Rugby Club. Her Club say “Claire has the unique talent of being able to communicate with her fellow members in a way that they feel valued”

 

Bucks & MK Covid Innovation Award 2020 – Khadijah Safari

Khadijah Safari of Safari MMA worked around the clock to bring all of her 240 students classes to their own home via Zoom links. A student said “There is only one Khadijah Safari and she will always continue to bring something to this world and community that no else can and this is her presence, a presence that brings comfort, experience, knowledge, inspiration and kindness.”

 

Bucks & MK Unsung Hero Award 2020 – Simon Shaw

Simon Shaw of Wycombe District Swimming Club. His club says of him “he is highly professional and competent and just always delivers. He continues to make a huge commitment to the club and just gets on with it without fuss”
