Reporting a concern

Don’t wait until you’re certain, report a concern now.

Do you think a child or vulnerable adult you know might be suffering from any of the following?

What should you do to help?

  • Act promptly
  • Make a note of your concerns and act promptly by contacting the social care team – contacts below.
  • If the individual is in immediate danger contact the Police on 999.
  • Give as much information as you can about the child, adult or family

Please don’t:

  • Ignore your concerns
  • Assume someone else will call
  • Try to resolve the situation yourself

 

Report a concern about a child in Buckinghamshire
If you think a child or young person under the age of 18 years is being abused or neglected, please inform the Buckinghamshire County Council’s First Response Team.

The First Response Team has a 24-hour emergency number for calls outside office hours. Out of Hours Emergency Social Work Team: 0800 999 7677

Alternatively you can report your concerns to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC.)
