The School Games is a national programme inspired by London 2012 and has four levels of sports competitions held every year for Primary and Secondary School children.
The level three competition sees children compete against others from across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. Here are some fun facts about last year’s level three event:
- 1,100 students participated last year.
- 77 schools took part last year.
- 150 young leaders officiated at last years event.
- Our event offers 18 sports, 28 events, 5 of which are inclusive.
This year’s event will take place on July 7th at venues across Aylesbury.
Become a volunteer –
With so many participants and so much going on at these venues, it’s quite tricky to make sure all goes to plan. As a result, we need your help! This is a perfect opportunity for any young people that love sports and are looking for work experience.
Showcase your talent at our opening ceremony –
We are also looking for local talent in Bucks & MK to perform at the opening the ceremony of our School Games, in front of 1,500 people at Stoke Mandeville Stadium!
So if you know anyone that would like to be a volunteer or know a talented group / individual that would be perfect for our opening ceremony then contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
