We co-ordinate Safeguarding and First Aid courses as well a various Continuous Professional Development (CPD) workshops designed specifically for those in a sporting environment. First Aid for Sport (4 hour) – This course is suitable for any persons involved in coaching any sport at club level. Areas covered include crisis management and dealing with respiratory arrest, circulatory arrest, fractures, bleeding, thermal injuries and CPR. This course is not HSE approved.

Safeguarding and Protecting Children – Every child deserves to enjoy their sport. This workshop will raise your awareness of the tell-tale signs of abuse, and give you the tools and confidence you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise in your coaching career. Newly updated to address the impact of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.

Continued Professional Development

Ensuring your coaching practice is up to date is an essential part of a coaches responsibility in order to deliver high quality sessions to participants. Leap are able to support coaches, leaders and volunteers achieve this by providing a range of CPD workshops and events during the year. Opportunities include; Sociology, Psychology and Talent based training to support experienced coaches to fine tune their delivery, Disability focused workshops to help deliverers create inclusive sessions, Project 500 workshops to support more women to get into coaching as well as Introductory workshops to motivate and inspire new volunteers to make a difference and lend a hand.
