This is the third workshop in the Talent Foundation Series and is aimed at coaches with an interest in talent development, working, or having a desire to work, with emerging athletes within the England Talent Pathway. You will explore the different types of ages that are present within developing talented athletes/players and discuss the implications for you and your coaching practice.
Because the nature of talent development is so varied, your workshop experience will be very much focused on what you and the rest of the group want to get out of that particular workshop, meaning you get a highly relevant, personalised experience.
‘This workshop has helped reframe my thinking becoming much more aware of how I shape the climate within which my athletes train.’ (David Millett, Head of Youth Development, Marshall Milton Keynes Athletics Club)
•Share current academic research regarding the Relative Age Effect and development ages, and be challenged to apply it to your own contexts
•Explore the key themes around developmental transitions, non-linearity of development and the links to mindset
•Be checked and challenged to reflect on your own environments, practices and systems, and share with coaches from other sports.
*Please note that we will be running the fourth of these workshops ‘Getting Better, Better’ directly after this workshop (12pm-1:30pm). If you wish to attend both workshops, the ‘Getting Better, Better’ will be free of charge.
