Volunteer in Sport

Volunteers are the lifeblood of community sport, find out how you can make a difference.

Want to make a difference in your local community? Learn new skills? Maybe you just want to do something interesting in your spare time, and make new friends? There are lots of different reasons why people volunteer – but they all say the same thing: it’s one of the most rewarding experiences you can have.

Active Bucks Community Champions

Too few people are doing enough physical activity to benefit their health, but many lack the confidence to seek out an activity which they would find fun and rewarding.

Active Bucks Champions are normal people, of all ages and backgrounds and many aspire to get more fit themselves. They buddy up with other likeminded people to make getting more active fun and sociable. They have access to all sorts of learning opportunities and earn time credits as a thank you for the hours they devote to the project.

If you are interested in becoming an Active Bucks Community Champion take a look at the more detailed list of roles which people are already undertaking – or just get in touch if you have a specific idea of your own!

I Want To Volunteer

Be Active – Help Out – Get Rewarded!

A project, being run as a pilot by Community Action: MK in association with the Milton Keynes Physical Activity Alliance, is recruiting the people of Milton Keynes to become volunteers in Physical Activity related roles. Every volunteer that gets involved in the selected roles will be rewarded with monthly credits that will offer them a free session for leisure activities across the city, including at 1Life, MK Leisure, and Freedom Lesiure facilities. Interested? Here is just a few examples of the types of things you could get involved with:

  • Health Walks Leaders with Milton Keynes Council
  • Cycle Ride Leader with British Cycling
  • Swimming Lessons Assistant with Stantonbury Arts & Leisure

Specialist training will be provided in some of these roles, and you could make a real difference to the health of the city, so take a look at these and many more available at: www.communityactionmk.org/volunteering/physicalactivity
